EAST COKER PARISH COUNCIL SEEK COUNCILLOR

We need to appoint two more Parish Councillors to support the Parish.

 

Are you interested in local current affairs?

Do you wish to serve your community?

Could you provide a voice for residents?

 

If you feel like you would like to get involved in making decisions about your local community and make a significant contribution to the area in which you live, then this is the position for you! You will need to attend the monthly Parish Council meeting plus other ad-hoc meetings and possibly join a working group. It would be fantastic if we could have one candidate to represent Wraxhill area of the Parish please.

Applications are invited by anyone registered as a Local Government Elector for the Parish on the Electoral Register who is and has been living in or within a three mile radius of the parish for the whole of the period of the last 12 months.

East Coker Parish Summer Fun

Don’t forget the Summer Fun Event on Saturday 29th June 12.00 to 4.00pm at the Village Cafe.

Adult Lunch £5 by ticket. Children under 12 free. Admission free if you don’t want lunch. Live music, demonstrations, lots of stalls and competitions.

Supported by the Parish Council working together with the Village Cafe for the Community

New General Data Protection Regulations will be instated by the East Coker Parish Council from 25th May 2018. The East Coker Parish Council takes your privacy seriously.

Your personal information will not be used without your permission and you can opt out at any time.

Personal information will only be stored by the Clerk and not shared with a third party.

James, or Jimmy as he preferred to be called

It is with great sadness that we are writing this, our fellow Councillor James New passed away on Sunday 22nd October. We are all deeply saddened by his passing and our heart felt thoughts go out to his wife, Helen and their baby son, Tobias.

James, or Jimmy as he preferred to be called, was an active member of the Parish Council and served for many years. He will be dearly missed by the Parish Council and Parishioners.

Mobile Library times have changed

For those that are new to the village or don’t know we are fortunate to have a mobile library that visits the parish every 4 weeks on Tuesday, it is parked outside the Helyar Arms Pub (BA22 9JR) 12.40 tp 12.55pm.  If we do not use this amazing service it will  sadly stop. SO please support your mobile library. Please see the calandar for new dates and times.
